Hola.
Depending on the layout of the new site, I think we should include some sort of tagline or banner below the title, near the top of the index page. A header, of sorts. Something like, "in memory of Morgan *insert his last name. Starts with an 'S', I think*."
If not for Morgan specifically, perhaps something like "Created from the ashes of Digihitch.com". SOMETHING to memorialize the awesome a powerful legacy the site is carrying on.

"Created from the ashes of Digihitch.com". is a snappy tag line, for sure.
Maybe a link to a Morgan memorial page off the home page. Kinga Freespirit deserves one too in my opinion. These were people with gentle souls who brought hitching to a higher echelon. If people want to read and learn about Morgan and Kinga, they should be able to but curiosity should lead the way.

Hey Guys,
I like your ideas.
I'm thinking that incorporating one of Morgan's descriptions of Digihitch into our site's subtitle:
"A hitchhiking and road culture portal for all who are drawn to the road." - Morgan "Salman"
would be a good way to pay homage to Morgan and Digihitch.
What do you think?

Yeah, that sounds good. His last name was Strub. "The road provides" was another famous Morgan quote.

Having a memorial for Morgan is a great idea. I'm not sure what the "Salman" thing was about- maybe someone else here knows? But I do know that was a nickname he used.

"The road provides" was another famous Morgan quote. Frankly, I don't like that one. There is more to it, but it reads to me like "other people will take care of me" which may be true, but come on.

I always took it as a big picture thing than interpret it as though people were going to feed me and house me. More for the human psyche. But some people might see it that way, sure.
