Hello Everyone,
So the issue of allowing profanity on the forum section of our new community has come up.
Here's how it's going to work.
Everyone who visits our site has the right to either read profane language or not have to read it. So in an effort to accommodate everyone:
There are some expletives that just can't be used except in a derogatory context, and those will not be allowed on the forums.
All other language will be tolerated, however on each and every post readers will have the ability to report said post if it breaks the forum rules in any way. If a post is reported, whether or not that post will be edited or removed entirely will depend solely on the discretion of the Moderator. Yes, excessive profanity or abusive and directly insulting language will be against the forum rules.
The story section, however, will accommodate any and all language.
Evan.

Sounds like an ideal solution to me.

By the way, if anyone disagrees with this, please speak up. This belongs to all of us.

Sounds good to me. You're basically suggesting self-moderation, which I approve of. I mean, I think there is a definite difference for most people between words like "cunt" and "Damn". One being purely used to degrade and the other a common expression of disappointment. Seems like a good policy to me.

Sounds good to me as well, as long as the system knows the difference!
